Safety is of paramount importance to Accessman; it drives every aspect of the business and is essentially the company’s reason for being. Enabling you to work safely at height is their key objective, which in turn has lead to the development of a training programme to ensure that their customers have the knowledge to safely operate the machines they hire.

What Is Accessman Silvercard Operator Training?

The Accessman Silvercard Operator Training is a nationally recognised safety training programme supported by the Hire Industry Association of New Zealand (HIANZ) and satisfying Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards. The core competency is the safe operation of Elevated Work Platforms (EWP’s).

The objective of the training is to give operators an expert understanding of the different types of machines, their safety features and applications to minimise the potential for accidents through the incorrect use of this equipment in the workplace.

Increased productivity is a direct result of using EWPs to complete a task, as the machinery removes the need for scaffolding and therefore reduces set-up times. Add to this, Silvercard Operator Training and a solid understanding of how to use EWPs efficiently and productivity is further enhanced.

Each training course is conducted by an Accessman accredited Gold Card Trainer and can be held either on your job site or at one of the Accessman Branches across New Zealand.

The course runs for a full day, with a maximum of 5 attendees per session. At the end of the course, each attendee is issued with a personalised Silvercard Operator Licence which is valid for 5 years.

The Silvercard Operator Licence certifies that the holder is competent in the operation of access equipment and it enables the holder to also conduct safety inductions for the purpose of showing others best operational and safety practices; this is especially useful for Worksite Foreman needing to demonstrate operational procedures to their employees.
