Q – Do I need a licence to operate one of your machines?

No you do not need a licence to operate – you do however need to be inducted in the machines operation and safety features. For regular users, we do have Silvercard Operator Training available.

Q – Do I need to wear a harness in these machines?

You are required by OSH to wear a harness while in the basket of a cherrypicker or boom type lift. You are not required to wear a harness in a scissor lift unless it is deemed necessary by the nature of the work being undertaken or by the work place and its Heath and Safety rules in place.

Q – What if my job is weather dependant?

If you hire a machine and can’t use it on a specific day, just give them a call to reschedule your booking or discuss what they can do for you.

Q – How do I get a machine to site?

Accessman has their own dedicated delivery fleet which means they are able to ensure that you get the machine to site when you need it and when you are done, just give them a call and they will come and pick it up. Some machines can be trailered or towed behind suitable vehicles, please ask at the time of your booking or enquiry.

Q – What if I want to pick up my machine?

Some 6 Metre Scissor lifts and Cherrypickers can be towed using a suitable vehicle, which means that you can call into the branch and tow it away. Accessman machines all require a 1 7/8”size tow ball.

Q – How am I charged for a hire?

Accessman charge ½ day and full day (a day is 12 or 24 hours) rates. For longer term hires, please contact your local branch to obtain a quote.

Q - Does Accessman have a consultation service to help me decide on the right machine?

Yes, If the Accessman staff can’t advise the right machine over the phone they offer a free site inspection service. Please contact your local branch for more information

Q – What safety equipment does Accessman supply?

Accessman will provide free harnesses for anyone who requires them for use of one of their machines. Other equipment can be negotiated on request.
